Poplar Forest was completed in the summer of 2010 and is my second collaboration with photographer Rob McDonald. Someday relatively soon, there should be a full subpage on the website here with details and pictures. In the meantime please visit Rob's website for details and order forms (or stop by one our open houses on the Third Friday of every month from 6-9pm to see the book in person).
IN PROGRESS...
Loomings: a full-color 96 page book of Carrborian William Stott's poems, prose, and even a few color photographs. All copies will be signed by the author and will feature hand-printed letterpress covers with a drawing by Jason Seale.
Southern Fictions: I am designing, hand-printing, and hand-binding this book of sonnets by Kathryn Stipling Byer for Durham-based Jacar Press. Kay is the former poet laureate of North Carolina and these sonnets look back at her experiences growing up in the Deep South during the Jim Crow era. All copies in this limited edition will be signed by the poet and will feature handmade paper covers made by Ann Marie Kennedy, likely utilizing old Confederate battle flags as part of the pulp.
Threatening to emerge off the backburner...
—a second collaboration with John Lane. Thirty of John’s “Old Rob” poems investigating the changing culture of the North Carolina mountain communities will be accompanied by illustrations from my favorite wood engraver, Gaylord Shanilac.
We are always interested in reading new works (but do not promise to return mansucripts).
